01 August 2011
Presented by Mary Sheppard.
A 1938 autopsy specimen from a 46 year old man who had "not had a day's illness" from childhood until six weeks before his death. When, after grazing his elbow at work, he became gradually unwell with pallor, occasional sweats and marked lassitude. He refused medical attention, continuing at his work until he collapsed, dying in the ambulance which had been called.
