- Stephanie Smith
Hello! My name is Stephanie Smith, I am currently an animal genetics researcher at Scotland's Rural College. Over the last few years I have been working on the genetics behind the different characteristics dairy cows exhibit through mid-infrared spectroscopy analyses of their milk. My background is in population genetics, molecular ecology and evolutionary biology. I am particularly interested in the application of genetic approaches to tackle issues in conservation biology and sustainable living. I also try and participate in science communication events when I can as I think it is very important to communicate research to the public and wider audiences and share the exciting aspects of science. If you would like to read more on future projections please check out a project I did as part of a fellowship with Scotland's Future Forum as funded by SEFARI (https://sefari.scot/) and can be found here http://www.scotlandfutureforum.org/scotland2030-our-environment-2017-sef...
