Researchers have obtained DNA from Bigfoot (sasquatch) and published their result here

I am surprised that now almost everyone carries a mini video recorder we do not see more recordings of our hairy cousins perhaps they are becoming more shy.

They'll have to get a photo-ID to claim welfare payments :)...

Google Search for the title:Novel North American Hominins, Next Generation Sequencing of Three Whole Genomes and Associated Studies

One of the problems with hominid DNA sequencing is contamination with Human DNA.  And, I have no doubt that some of the Sasquatch samples weren't collected with perfectly sterile procedures.

Apparently the mitochondrial DNA came from several different human ethnic backgrounds.  It would just seem strange that one would get multiple "hybrids", unless these hybrids were actually occurring quite frequently.

Anyway, I think it would be beneficial to look at a chain of custody for the samples, and compare the DNA they found with the DNA of the people handling the specimens.

How many of the samples were ruled to be 100% human?  Any?

Perhaps the point was that there are articles that would never get published in mainstream peer review journals.

Thus, the niche for new professional-ish web publishing.

I have no doubt that the website will get a large number of "hits" from the Sasquatch article.  But, how many will actually be willing to actually pay $30 for the article?

I see they have a cover,
Volume 1, Issue 1, 1st Quarter 2013.

Their entire journal may in fact consist of a single article.

So, the more web hits, the merrier.

Sasquatch is real, as proven by genetic analysis.“

Errr, I don't think so. I bet you believe in the Yeti and Loch Ness monster too.

As for Melba Ketchum, even the Bigfoot believers have trouble with her credibility:

Quote from: Bigfoot Evidence
After Ketchum made her announcement that the DNA study had discovered the creature we call Bigfoot is a half human/hominid hybrid; claims, rumors, and discrepancies regarding Ketchum and her business dealings started coming from blogs and other sources. We already know about the issue concerning her DNA Diagnostic business receiving a poor rating from the BBB, another is the secret shut down of her lab. Now there are more rumors coming out, saying Ketchum has a past full of information that is damaging to her credibility, honesty, and ethics. One blog even made a statement saying Ketchum is operating her DNA study like a snake oil salesman.

Another issue causing the pointing of fingers is the results from an independent lab on the Justin Smeja DNA samples, which showed results of having bear and human DNA. Some are wondering if Ketchum’s study is based on bad science since Robert Lindsay claims an inside source told him that Smeja’s steak was a vital part of Ketchum’s DNA study. Now it seems like Melba is saying that Smeja and Bart Cutino sent her bad samples. Smeja and Cutino both have distanced themselves from the Ketchum study, and Cutino has made it publicly known that Ketchum, based on his dealings with her, is unprofessional and even questioned her character and integrity.
