The way it's going the only thing really worthwhile is leaving a testament, placing a record of our short era of Homo Sapiens rise and fall, somewhere where it can be read and understood by coming species. And that will be something concerning Earths time scale, not ours. It needs to be there, as a warning.

All of it a catastrophe, where the implications for any consensus, trying to survive what's coming for us in terms of topsoil, water, groundwater, global warming, eco and biodiversity, and wars just tells me one thing.

No, Russia doesn't think it can 'escape' retaliation. Russia is making a point, a big one asking us how far we're prepared to go to bolster our, and our politicians and medias, hurt feelings.
