Is it a polite term? The Japanese call all foreigners "Gaijin" which translated means outsider people. It is not a very pleasent word but I prefer it to Alien, which the Japanese government use when a foreigner registers in Japan. I took along my dealy boppers so I looked like a real Alien. They weren't impressed.
