Does daytime convection alter redness of sunset?
« on: 16/09/2011 18:01:03 »
Tom Hall asked the Naked Scientists:

Perhaps an answer to Mark from Hasliington with regard to the redness of the sunset. An explanation I had heard for the difference in the redness between sunrise and sunset was that with sunset there were more particles in the atomosphere due to the convection caused by the sun's heat during the day. Whereas the coolness of the night meant that there would be less convection and particular matter would not be bouyed by thermal current.

It is a great show you run.
