Chemistry / Will dry towels speed up drying wet clothes
« on: 04/10/2014 17:10:20 »
When I worked at a bed and breakfast where there was a lot of linen to do, my boss would always toss in a few dry towels with each load of wet clothes. The idea being that the towels would soak up some of the moisture. But would that really help? On the one had the drier still has to evaporate the same amount of water. On the other hand, if the dryer is detecting some concentration of wetness, and its spread out among the clothes plus the already dry towels, maybe the concentration drops faster, or is less. Can I save money doing this?
