Cells, Microbes & Viruses / WBC diluting fluid destroys RBC but not WBCs !!??
« on: 30/09/2003 14:50:19 »
Hello,
While performing the the total count of WBC , one needs to add a particular volume of WBC diluting fluid to a particular volume of blood . Interestingly, the WBC diluting fluid containing acetic acid (probably 2%) and Gentian violet ( to stain the nucleus of the WBCs)lyses the RBCs only ??!!
Can anyone explain this ? genegenie, there is no genetics involved, even then you should try this !!
