What Is The Liquid In My Blister and Other Blister Type Questions ?
« on: 26/09/2008 17:24:19 »
Dear Blisteroids,

As a sheepy, I am of course subjected to wear and tear as I continue my fitness regime on the treadmill !....will ewe flippin look at this ?

 [ Invalid Attachment ]

It's a thing of beauty isn't it ? It even has a small satellite blister  which ewe can't really see but it's there alright !!

Now then..what's the liquid in it ?

Why does it hurt now and not when I'm on the treadmill  ?

What can I do about it because tomorrow I have another few miles to do
(I did 9.2 today)..... why my right foot ?...(by the way I've used different foot wear and it's always the right foot !)

I've been doing this now six days a week since June and I was hoping that by now my feet may have generated some hardened skin but alas, poor Yorick, I knew him well....I meant...alas...there is no sign of foot skin acclimatisation !!...why's that then ?

Your blister relief orientated answers will be most welcome.

why my right foot ?...(by the way I've used different foot wear and it's always the right foot !)

Possibly feet slightly different sizes: one shoe fits, the other is loose. A cushioned heel-grip fitted to one shoe may help.

Endorphins generated by vigorous exercise could explain why the heel did not hurt while running.

Quote
Endorphins are endogenous opioid polypeptide compounds. They are produced by the pituitary gland and the hypothalamus in vertebrates during strenuous exercise , excitement, and orgasm; and they resemble the opiates in their abilities to produce analgesia and a sense of well-being.

OH My GOOOOSH Sheepy! Thats the biggest heel, foot blister, I have ever seen.. OUCH.... So sorry.. That must really hurt .....Smmooches the Owwwie better!

I always lance them and put Neosporin (triple antibiotic) on them but they hurt worse for a bit after you do it... but then I put a bandage (English) Plaster over it and that helps but the heel will be sore for a bit and the skin usually comes off as it dries up!

I always thought the fluid was Glucose covering the inflamed area.. but I am not sure!

Neil do you have any Antiseptic Cream in your home? If so put some on your sore blister with a plaster (US bandage).

Try not to walk for a while and it might just be your own natural "water/fluid" in your blister.

Unless it's turned red then you've got a blood blister and wow that's messy when it bursts.
Do not burst it.

I know its been a while since this was last active but the stuff in blisters is either lymph its the stuff your blood cells float around in or serum which (in this case) is blood plasma with the clotting factors removed
