Complementary Medicine / Re: What is the treatment for molluscum contagiosum?

My 10 year old was infected and I read page after page on the Internet about various "cures". We took her to see our GP who was basically useless and advised us not to try any of the methods I had read about on the Internet...thankfully, I took no notice to him.
I had read about Iodine and Lemon Myrtle Oil and Tea Tree oil and many other ointments etc, however, I found a clinical study which suggested Iodine and Tea Tree Oil in equal measure had seen positive results. Now I should mention here that I am one of the biggest sceptics there is, but just had to do something to try and help my little girl. The study had said that used in isolation neither was as effective, however, mixed it had been quite effective.
The iodine arrived first and I applied it the first night - without the magic effect I had hoped for. I was already thinking the whole thing was going to be a waste of time but waited for the TTO to be delivered.
The following night I applied the iodine and TTO with a cotton bud and went to
bed with my fingers crossed. The following morning I was quite astounded by the immediate noticeable improvement. The spots had shrunk, appeared to be drying up and were visibly less angry looking.
To cut a long story short I continued to apply the mixture each evening and sometimes in the morning before school. In 2/3 days the improvement was amazing and after about 10 they appear to have been defeated. There are small red marks left where they were, however, I believe these will fade in time.
Please do try this; it may not work for everyone, but both are readily available and it was like a miracle cure. There was no adverse reaction or side effects and is so easy to apply.
I rarely post things on the Internet, but felt I needed to offer a little glimpse of hope to people as I know how distressing this infection is.
Give it a go and good luck to you all in finding a way to deal with MC.
