Physiology & Medicine / The Real Cause Of Fat Formation

I've been reading a lot lately on alternative medicine sites about toxins. One common theme has to do with toxins and fat. According to some well read authors with a lot of initials behind their name is this assertion:
"If toxins build up faster than they can be eliminated, in an attempt to protect your organs, your body will actually make body fat for the specific purpose of storing toxins as far away from vital organs as possible."
Well, I've dug out my old physiology texts and can't anything that backs that up. Does anyone know if the body indeed will make fat to store excess toxins? Or is that just a lot of hooey to sell cleanse products?
