Curiosity and the study of science makes you a scientist by definition.
Hello, if you are a poster in this section and not a scientist , the chances is that you are ill but don't really realise this.

I am an Electrical Engineer and not a scientist. I do communicate with many scientists as I try to get them to review my books. Some ask for copies most don't. My work is a theory in progress. It still is not good enough for them. I am glad that I am not a scientist as I like building things and would have been very unhappy just writing equations all day long. the scientists have very good memories and I do not. For me this is a lifetime hobby. It is not for money. I sell a few books each month on Amazon and Kindle but the amount of money I get is tiny. Yet I am a problem solver and gravity and space-time is a problem to solve. I have been working on this since 1981. In December I will rewrite my book again. And then I will go back to the Professors and perhaps finally they will like what I have to say. This forum is great. There is a whole range of ideas that people have. Some people cannot write any equations but sense things. Some express strange ideas but that is good as well. And when I want to know what Einstein believes to be true I post my questions on the science forum. And the experts really understand Einstein and others very well. I have been lucky to have some well known top scientists criticizing my work. I have also had some Nobel prize scientists cursing me out for bothering emailing them. But many have kind words for me and wish me good luck although they do not feel my work is good for them. So I am stuck with my hobby but I have been told by some people that it is more worthwhile then playing Golf as a hobby.
I am an Electrical Engineer and not a scientist.I'm a Brazilian glazier for "good" sake
What is a scientist? Someone who studies and is curios of the scientific nature. I have a record I can look back on from institutions of learning but someone without a record could be more knowledgeable then myself. The formal title does not always equal the curios mind in understanding. But the combination has the best chance of understanding. Its the unusual person who trains his or her self.
