Sorry for bumping into an old conversation. Itching is your body's way of responding to the insect's saliva, which contains certain chemicals that irritate your skin. Although scratching might provide temporary relief, it's generally not recommended as it can lead to further irritation, open the bite site to potential infection, and delay the healing process.
