Physiology & Medicine / Can Post Natal Depression in a woman cause nerve damage 'down below'?

Hi everyone,
So I am 31 years old and a single mum of one very independent, cheeky mini me. She is 6 and a half years old and the moment she was born, it was like a light switch turning off any feelings of caring. I know this is going to sound odd but I have never felt that positive overwhelming feeling my friends have had when they have given birth to their children. I have always put on a happy smiley face for my daughter as I didn't want her to grow up with "yeah my childhood was tough because my mum had post natal depression which has lasted all my life" Now the birth to me was traumatic as I had no pain relief. The midwives said it was a text book birth, all I thought when mini me was born was "I have just gone through that pain for a screaming little alien"
The other thing I have felt stupid about mentioning to my Dr and Gynaecologist, is whenever I masterbate, I have pretty much zero sensation, until I eventually manage to get to a quick O and then I get the POIS.
I got to a really low point where I considered taking my own life but thankfully with me being a wimp about pain (I have zero pain tolerance) I decided it would be selfish on my daughter and family so that was that.
I always tell my daughter I love her and many don't realise how I struggle with depression and failure as a parent daily.
I am currently studying criminology and psychology as I have always been interested in the psychological aspect of men and women, especially when affected by such personal and intimate things. My experience has made me understand to a certain point, how some of my friends relationships have broken down. It might be small to some of us, but if we can't talk to our partners about our physical struggles, then how can we start to work on fixing a relationship?
I have read a lot of the post about POIS which I have found very interesting, especially from the male perspective but I would like to hear from any women who have had struggles with their physical bodies post natural birth.
Apologies for the long waffle and I think I've posted this in the correct forum.
