If someone asks for permission to clamp a mask over your head, with optical fibers coming out of it, and asks you to remain in a small region of a shielded room, you might get suspicious that neurosurveillance has started.//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hx7_SlvWmEsEven then, it can't come remotely close to monitoring thoughts! It can just detect increased or reduced electrical activity in certain regions of the brain.More at https://spectrum.ieee.org/the-human-os/biomedical/imaging/a-new-wearable-brain-scanner

Bored chemist, you are now permanently on my ignore list with The Spoon, so I won't comment further.tk
That link doesn't tell us how it's possible to monitor a person's thoughts remotely
Project STREET WISE is about neuromodulation and neuromonitoring of human behavior remotely. This has nothing to do with mental thoughts or anything related to the mind or consciousness. tk
So why do you use the term "neuromonitoring" instead of just "monitoring"?
neuromodulation and neuromonitoring of human behavior remotely....Neuromonitoring and neurosurveillance are basically the same thing.
So how does neuromodulation differ from the other two terms?
More about modifying neuronal activity?
Neuromonitoring and neurosurveillance are basically the same thing. Both concepts involves recording and analyzing neuronal activity in very specific areas of the brain.
How do you propose that it's possible to do that at a distance without being noticed by the person being analyzed? All current technology requires devices to be very close to the brain (usually by wearing them on the head).

Is there anyone reading this who thinks their behaviour is not related to their "mental thoughts or anything related to the mind or consciousness."?Because, if there's actually such a relationship, TK's post is nonsense.
Very good question @Kryptid. Recent research in non-invasive neuromodulation has demonstrated that it is now possible to perform remotely deep brain stimulation with low-intensity, pulsed ultrasounds: https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/09540261.2017.1302924
I assume that it should be possible and extremely easy to remotely record sensitive neurometric data with that precise technology in mobile devices.
Thus, with the help of ultrasounds and mobile devices, no implants or electrodes should be necessary to capture or manipulate in real-time neuronal activity.tk
That does not follow. At all. A technology capable of stimulating specific kinds of activity does not necessarily have the ability to acquire information from the system it is stimulating. Give us a link to some authoritative source demonstrating that information can be extracted from the brain using ultrasound.
Secondly, you need to demonstrate that this ultrasonic technology (specifically a variant known to be capable of manipulating brain activity) exists in mobile phones.
This is an area I must work on specifically in order to fully understand how precisely focused ultrasounds may both be used for neuromodulation and monitoring of brain activity. Yes, work is in progress into this issue. Thanks for your input.tk
