In Stalinist Russia, it was illegal to name your child or pet after a communist official that was not Joseph Stalin. It was also illegal that when chatting with the infallible Marshal Stalin, that you don't maintain eye contact for too long, or too little. He interpreted both acts as signs of dishonesty or fakery on the looker's part.
In Japan, if someone gets their computer serviced and they find pubic hair in or on it and are able to prove it belongs to the person(s) that did the work, they are entitled to a full refund.
In France, it is illegal to intentionally strike someone with a baguette.
In Saddam's Iraq, a Saddam Hussein style mustache was the only type of mustache permitted.
In Switzerland, flushing the toilet after 10 pm is illegal.
In Sweden, it's illegal to repaint a house without the government’s permission.
In North Korea, anyone who disputes the official line that their leader doesn't use a toilet is punishable by death or life imprisonment.
In Iran, the age of consent is 9 (if they're married).
In Chavez's Venezuela, it was illegal to say nice things about the US or UK.
