I don't really know what the OP is asking, he talks about nutritional perspective, but the difference between animal & vegetable, or fruit & vegetable isn't about nutrition.
In the United States there are four food groups, unless that has changed since I was a kid. The meat, the dairy, the fruit and vegetable and the grain. Corn is actually technically a grain. See my confusion? Perhaps I should have made myself more clear .
