It is inconceivable to me that someone in one of the richest and most privileged nations in the world could somehow think that they would be twice as well off if money were equally shared around the world.
But why should Bill and his wife have that much power? Surely they are smart and have good intentions, so thumbs up for that, but would we put them in control of ALL the money?

Well, most people can't afford any of that. About a billion people can just barely afford food. My argument is that it's in nobody's interest that this status quo be preserved because it's a highly unstable situation which threatens everyone, including the super rich. As example, if we'd lost control of the ebola epidemic in Africa, nobody would have been safe from that. If social chaos leads to nuclear war, no one will be safe from that either.

As example, Bernie Sanders proposed free college for everybody, funded by the rich.
They just don't need to be billionaires.
If Bill Gates and Steve Jobs had never invented Windows and OSX, we'd all be using free open source operating systems like Linux. The vast concentration of wealth in a few hands wasn't necessary for innovation.
In related news, the Naked Scientists Conglomerate Inc has agreed to buy this post from me for $364.9 trillion dollars, making all of you my serf subjects. I've purchased the government, army and police with a fraction of the sum, so you have no recourse other than to comply and obey, and clean my toilets for a dollar a day. That will be all for now, back to your hovels with you, you brain dead suckers!
They don't have power, only money. Power is vested in idiots like Trump and scumbags like Assad. QuoteGates has the power to decide what projects his vast wealth will fund, that's was my point, which I think you already understand. But you can't help yourself from making a reactionary quip to anything that appears here. I just don't have the patience to teach you that the price tag for hitting the reply button before we think is public embarrassment. You're capable of better, and have provided proof thereof. Please slow down and try to raise your game to where we know it can be. Thank you.
