Chemistry / Spectrophotometry question
« on: 05/11/2005 21:37:06 »
I did a biochem lab on absorbance , using ninhydrin with Tyrosine and glycine and then measuring their absorbance @ 570 nm
My absorb for Tyro was at around .557 , and Glycine at around .623 .
What accounted for this?
I know that tyro has the bezene ring, with its delocalized electrons ..but can anyone help me with a better explaination?
THanks.
