The rules of this site

I put a lot of work into answering people here, then I come across the likes of Geezer who seems to find it funny to ban me even after they have given me a so-called friendly warning.
Apparently I was being cheeky, to another member... which couldn't be further from the truth. I made ''if's'' in my sentences, showing that I wasn't to be taken seriously and they were just instances - hypothetical instances.
Geezer then did what he thought he needed to do, and warned me to stop it or I would be banned. A little while later, he then banned me for the same offense when I had been warned and that was that. He then said I was banned because
I never apologized
He must be finding this a joke, because no where in the rules does it say a member needs apologize. Not only that Geezer lulled me into a false sense of security thinking well... ''I've been warned --- so that must be it.''
If an apology surely was supposed to be intended, I certainly wasn't asked or hinted at for one. Not to mention in the first place Geezer was well-aware that I did not believe I needed to hand one out.
So what are the rules here? Apologies? When has that been manditory?
Geezer was well out of line on this one, and no one said one thing! A week as well I was being banned for. Most sites start off at three days.

Æthelwulf,
I'm sorry to hear that you have had a frustrating time.
I have nothing but respect for the moderators on this forum, although occasionally I'll see a topic get locked that I'd still like to comment on. But, it isn't the end of the world.
For some, carrying out an intellectual debate can be a tricky business. I don't have details of the issues you had with some of the moderators, and don't want to know.
However, I would encourage sticking to the issues at hand. One can certainly use quotes. However, it is often best to avoid using names or the term "you" in replies, in part because the discussions are often between the author and the world, rather than between the author and another individual.
Argue facts and your opinion, rather than the posting style of another individual.
Anyway, most people find this an informative forum, and can build respect, even for people who hold a difference of opinion.
What can I do to get myself banned for a MONTH... so I could actually concentrate on something else? [

Thank you Cliff.
My greatest frustration is that I think Geezer has formed some kind of personal dislike and that he abused his moderatorship just to get me banned... but what looks like the most part, the fun of it.
It should not be right to lull someone into a false sense of security thinking that the judgment has been passed on something then to just ban someone later for the same offense.

Thread locked. All bans are discussed by moderators - and no moderator acts from personal dislike. I know that I needed to warn you on a different occasion - and I believe that other moderators have also posted warnings.

Æthelwulf, you've only shared a tiny part of the story of why you were banned, in what appears to be an attempt to discredit the moderators.
The truth is that you've been warned plenty of times about your tone on the forum. You have a history of being condescending an disrespectful to other forum members and to moderators (this thread being yet another example). This isn't simply a fact of the moderators holding a grudge: we have received reports from other forum members about your behavior.
We don't simply ban a user on their first offense (unless it's exceptionally egregious). In your case, you have been warned by at least three different moderators (myself included) to modify your behavior or face a ban. Yet despite that, you continued posting with a condescending tone to other users. Therefore, you received a temporary ban.
