General Science / What determines the number of blades on a fan ?
« on: 17/11/2004 23:04:34 »
Hello lovely science experts.
I'm nice and warm now because I just had my electric fan blast me with electric heat, shame but I had no marshmallows !!..anyway...as I turned it off and the fan came to halt I thought to myself what is the law that governs the number of blades on a fan ? be it a cylindrical barrel type or a traditional rotary type fan......does the angle of the blades have an effect on the number required, as well as size etc ?...is there a formula that is particular to this ?
Your aerated cyclonic draughty answers will be most appreciated....and what ever happens, you know I'm your number one fan...(oh gawwwwd !!!!)
