Nick Weins asked the Naked Scientists:
I live in the State of Minnesota in the US, at 45 degrees lat. In the dead of winter here there is an event called the 'Polar Plunge' where a hole is cut in the ice and 100s of people jump in the frigid water for charity.
I've always thought they were nuts and have no interest in participating even though it is done for a good cause. After your podcast segment about adapting to cold I felt compelled to make you aware of this.
Perhaps I should reconsider doing this.
What do you think?
