The biggest question about the Wow! signal is about FSPL - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-space_path_loss (Free-space path loss). A signal sent from 1 ly distance (9 461 000 000 000 km), according to the following calculator https://www.everythingrf.com/rf-calculators/free-space-path-loss-calculator gives me signal loss of about 355dB. Assuming no gain for tx and rx. What if the signal was sent from a distance object thousands of light years away? What sort of power must have been used, if the signal loss was greater than 430dB? And what was the power level received here on Earth?
