Make Networks Not War!

The human global population is nearly 6,500,000,000 people rounding up (quite a bit).
Think about how amazing it would be if everyone could collaborate their efforts on one single task for just a single SECOND, that would give about 1,805,556 working HOURS or 10,747 working WEEKS to a task! [
] We need to really stop warring and invent some cool gadget to "borrow" a second of everyone’s brain power to achieve some shared goals. Obviously one person working for a second isn't going to help much, but you get my drift. If you also go on the assumption that there is at least one computer for each person in the world and we shared some CPU time from each of these, we could compute some serious stuff.

I can barely stand talking to most people, why would I want them on the same neural network as me? It would be all of 5 nanoseconds before it was flooded with advertisements, porn, pirated music, and people decrying how combining neural capacity with others not of the same faith is an abomination before god.
Cool idea though.

Hmmm !!..to be part of a collective like that.....could be fun...could also be a hysterical nightmare !!...but there are quite a few programs out there which do enable you to join a computer collective....SETI had one and I'm positive there are others too. Some can be downloaded as screensavers and perform calculations when idle.....it is a great idea though Matt...nice !

LOL neural advertising, I have a feeling that will be brought to a stop before it gets off the ground. True SETI does do a cool clustering thing across the net... but wouldn't you prefer to have highly accurate weather forecasts or summing? I think my idea would work better if people weren’t aware of what’s going on… so at say midday at all the various times across the globe, everyone stands still for a second and gives up their brain [
]. Might have some problems with cars etc. but by the time something like this could be done we will all have robotic cars [
]. Plus peeps take their eyes off the road for longer than a second…
Yeh that would be good, the technology would be called TheSharing and I would be self appointed leader of the world called Papa-Matt after all the neural propaganda I put into the technology [
] ACE!
