I think that we often do things that are similar to things we have done before and as our brains try to make sense of and sort our memories it may compare the present situation with a similar one from the past. It may just be the shapes of the buildngs you are looking at are similar to a previous vistor you have seen. This is what gives you that shiver of dejavu.

My (soon to be) husband (6 days*) gets dizzy spells and occasionally vomits when he experiences deja vu. His brother is the same and has passed out on occasion.

Not that that adds anything.. I just think it's interesting.

A recent meeting of the Deja Vu Society was a complete flop. Not one member turned up as they all thought they had been there before.

My grandma had the gift of Vision....and she always told me that deja vu was  an experience one has when they are on the right path in their life.....

Now I know many do not believe in such Things but I personally had many experiences with my Grandma and know beyond any doubt that his gift was real and that many really have It...I have also seen it abused...which is sad...

It's not like that seeing into the future! Thats not what I said.....I said she believed it meant you were on the right path in your life....The way she explained to me was that you ha done this before the same situation and had come thgh unscathed...you had made the rigt decisions bringing you again through unscathed whole and things would be just fine.... just fine.. Meaning in that currant situation.......Nothing to do with seeing into the future but into th past and using it as a guide....to help you.... That was just her opinion.....and I happen to agree with it......

Our consciousness lags behind brain processes and input senses by about 1/2second. There is a good experiment you can do to demonstrate this, if you glance at the second hand of a quarz clock. It sometimes seems to take a long time to appear to start moving.
A good,rational explanation for DV is that you get two experiences of some events. You perceive this as an event and a memory of the same event. DV is a bit like dreams in that it seems like sense but doesn't tend to stand up to scrutiny. For instance, trying to predict what will happen next, soon snaps you out of the illusion.
