What does it mean when a battery "operates above the reduction potential of the electrolytes, so generation of SEI can be avoided"?
I was under the impression that operating above the voltage just exacerbates the side reaction. ie if a battery operates at 2V, then the electrolysis reaction at 1.23V is faster than if the battery operated at 1.5V.
