General Science / Draughts: how do they work?
« on: 28/04/2020 20:59:40 »
Last week I left my back door open to let some fresh spring air in with the sunshine. I noticed that whilst it was warmer outside than inside, that the air flowing through my front door felt distinctly cool. It was about 18-20°c outside, and I know that my kitchen in the spring will be about 13-16°c . Can anybody explain this cooling effect? Some of me thinks it's to do with particles losing energy as they enter my kitchen and stopping dead on my skin as I walk past, but I'm no physicist-!
Thanks!
