Geology, Palaeontology & Archaeology / Can someone identify this geode?

I bought this geode on the outer banks of North Carolina. Was wondering what type of mineral or stone it is composed of. The pictures make it look like a blue hue but it is a vary dark purple with flecks of gold on the outside.
Outer rings of inside are dark purple and progress to a purplish gray before it reaches the rough crystals on the inside. Thanks to anyone who can help.
I realize that the flecks of gold are pyrite. I just included that bit of information in order to better describe the geode.
