Sure! Flagellae are motile structures, yes. they are found in bacterial and eukaryotic cells and aid movement.
Centrioles are made up of microtubules (usually 9) and are important in cell division.

In some plants, like conifers/flowering ones, they dont't have flagellae and centrioles like animal cells.

Both plant and animal cells have ribosomes and mitochondria, but some plants, like algae, have cyanobacteria also which, like mitochnodria, have their own DNA too.

But other than this, as far as I know, amount of mitochondria and ribosomes between plant and animal cells don't differ. Or at least not much I imagine.  []

Just a quick question regarding medical history for a book (fiction) that I am writing. For the sake of historical accuracy, what kind of treatment would doctor's have presecribed for severe headaches (brought on by brain tumour but this isn't found out) in 1897/1898? Just a prelim. really as books have a habit of developing of their own accord! It can be herbal treatment as well due to the nature of the text, but just wondering generally about medicine of the time. I know a fair amount, but I really want to dig around and get opinions. Thanks!

Quite a bit! Both are eukaryotic cells, but only plant cells have cell walls, vacuoles and chloroplasts (what makes leaves green)

Plant cells are more turgid due to the vacuole which is filled with sap and surrounded by a membrane called the tonoplast. Also they are larger than animal cell vacuoles.

Cell walls are made up of cellulose, hemicellulose, pectin and lignin. In the case of fungi, it is chitin.

Chloroplasts contain chlorophyll for photosynthesis.

Since animal cells don't have cell walls, they can morph easily and this is most obviously seen in phagocytic cells which engulf other cells.

I have spybot search and destroy and it seemed to help the Adware infestation or virus or whatever it is for a while, but all the internet windows started openign the other day again, despite having Spybot. Why would this be???

It doesn´t load pages very quickly and crashes a lot. I think that maybe computers just don´t like me much!

Thanks! I shall do that too. I think have got youtube working now, but am worried about all the Internet Explorer windows that are opening. I had about 60 or so the other day! I can´t stop it...not sure why...

Shall give it a go. I figured it must be a virus but couldn´t understand why Spybot and McAfee didn´t clear it. McAfee expires in 2 weeks. Was going to get AVG after that.

I am using Vista. I deleted cookies and temp internet files, and that seems to ahve brought YouTUbe back. However, anotehr problem has arisen - Loads, and I mean LOADS! of internet explorer Windows keep popping up. I can´t stop it!! I have spybot and McAfee so I don´t know why this is happening...A virus I thought, but don´t know how to get rid of it. I have to shut my whole laptop down everytime it happens...

Hello everyone! When it comes to biology/chemistry, I'm fine, but computers.... I know very little. SO I pose this question to you as it is getting to me somewhat!

When I go to YouTube to watch clips, I get onto the site fine, but I can't watch anything. The screen to show the clip comes up but stays blank. It has no buffer bar, no play/pause symbol. Nothing. I don't know why or how, but I think it may have something to do with safety settings and cookies and phishing and that sort of thing. However, I don't really "get" them and I don't know how to get YouTube working again (I am a student and - am not just saying this - but I need it for work!)

A couple of days before this starting happening I downloaded SpyBot search and destroy to get rid of an annoying spyware virus, so I also wonder if this has anything to do with it?

Please help! No clue what this is about, why it doesn't work and I would like to, as well as wanting clips back again! Thanks!

I'd say hate can be possible. I think it is rather akin to love - a feeling of such intensity that you can't be quite sure what it is you are feeling. Although, I think hate, again like love, had become a word so overused and usually used where it shouldn't, that noone is quite sure what is it anymore. Just remember Nietzsche saying that nothing can be born from it's opposite. Hate is opposite to love and that exists.

Insects have a open circulatory system rather than a closed one like mammals. In a closed system, blood is contained within veins or arteries whereas in an open one, blood travels freely. Butterflies have a heart but, if I remember correctly, it is located in the abdomen and operates a one-way flow system.

Definately No. 1 is the kitchen. Did similar experiment in microbiology and results showed that bathrooms would be cleaner.
