That metal bowl thing is a bit fanciful, I think.
My breadmaker has a metal bowl and produces lovely bread.
You may find that the stuff that comes out of the lavender is a bit reactive and could dissolve minute quantities of the metal - if it were steel or copper. - tainting the subtle scent.
