What on earth has happened to this poor fella ?

I was so hungry...I cooked it anyway !...and when I cut it....this is what it looked like !!

I did not eat it !! I put it through my neighbours letterbox instead !!


What's going on ?...first 'onions' and now this !!

This is a form of earth borne mold (mould, if you like), I THINK - in onions it is and I am almost sure it is the same in potatoes. It may or may not be a fungus or a single celled critter closely resembling fungi.

My guess is that the distribution system got a huge amount all at once and are still trying to get rid of them if at all possible.

I did not realise that it may have been an infection.....I thought that the poor thing might have been bruised and battered and that the resulting bumps were scaring from healing !!...This probably explains why my putting a band aid on it didn't help !!

I did fish once......I was about 11 and a chum and me tied some string to a couple of twigs and dangled them in a river !....didn't catch much....perhaps a cold !!
