Why is my face numb?
« on: 12/04/2008 15:22:45 »
Last night about 10 minutes after I went to bed my face went numb.  It started in my lips and then spread to my cheeks and temples.  It has the same feeling as hands/feet falling asleep, but not as intense.

It's happened probably a dozen times in the last year or so.  It's happening right now.

Any thoughts as to what could be causing this?

Bells Palsy?

I don't know.. go and see a doctor etc etc :)

could be a blockage somewhere in nerves or spinal... or could be parasitic in nature.. needs investigation.

Good luck

Thanks JNA, JimBob & Karen.  Bells Palsy was also the first thing I thought of.  My Dad has had it twice so I am somewhat concerned.

Could a pinched nerve cause the numbness?

i don't know about bells palsy and such,,but my face went numb  when I had that mini stroke....it was weird....felt like it was tingly at first and like i had had knovacane and it was wearing off and tingling like a arm or foot that had fallen asleep.
Do be careful... get checked!

Sorry Carolyn I can't advise you as I don't know anything about this condition, but yes I would also recommend/suggest that you go to your doctor.

She discovered the Single DNA Helix in 1953, then it was taken by Wilkins without her knowledge or agreeement.
