« on: 18/06/2008 12:30:27 »
Matthew asked the Naked Scientists:

What is the warmest it has ever got on Earth, when, and where?

What do you think?

About 4.5 billion years ago the Earth was entirely molten, that's the hottest the Earth has been.

The warmest it has ever been on Earth was probably when it was still molten - during the stage where the densest elements sank to form the core and the  least dense elements floated up to become the crust and atmosphere.
