Could we put ATP into energy drinks?

Destini asked the Naked Scientists:
One of my students asked me the following question, which I was unable to
answer.
"If ATP from respiration is the source of easily available energy, would it work to put it in energy drinks or other sources to be more easily used?"
We did some research online, but were unable to find an answer that satisfied our question.
What do you think?

I don't think the ATP would diffuse into your blood and give you a massive extra supply. You would break it down in your digestive tract and gain energy from it that way, but doing the same thing with sugar works pretty well too.
