What is this most lovely Fungus?

What is this most lovely Fungus?

I think it is a lovely fungus with the redwood sorrel around it...Found in Fern Canyon on the coast just a ways up from me..

It is an interesting one. Karen, FYI, it is Hydnellum peckii or "Bleeding Tooth Fungus".

Looks like you have the answer there, it is a native of the region according to The Fungi of California site http://www.mykoweb.com/CAF/

Bleeding tooth fungus... wonderful.... Stuart..Wen my daughter showed me the picture I was totally enamered by its beauty...Its just lovely!! That whole area of the coast is.. my favorite places to be inside the forest...amongst the redwood sorels, Trilliums and this is just magnificent.... absolutely beautiful.. thanks for the link and answer Stuart!

Thanks Don 1... thankyou...More lovely native beauties... This is actually the first time I have ever seen this partcular specimen of fungus.

Although its been a long while since I was able to meander through the forest... been a year or so...I took pictures last time.... Sarah took these.
