Can sneezing set off a speed camera?
« on: 03/08/2009 09:30:03 »
Joel Plowright  asked the Naked Scientists:

Somebody told me that we sneeze at 100mph. So what would happen if I sneezed in front of a speed camera?

From
Joel

What do you think?

If ewe sneezed out a car from your nose then ewe might get a ticket !...else...ewe could sneeze upon the lens and have the official tissue wipers from the authorities come and clean the camera ......

..however I don't think sneezing at 100mph would set the camera clicking to catch your sneeze. I can't imagine a sneeze providing enough density for the cameras beam thingy to be reflected back and trigger the lens/shutter.

I imagine they might pick up the odd fast swooping bird perhaps !

Unless you're sneezing chaff, most radar cameras wouldn't care.
