Palm heart
Bamboo shoots
Sea Weed
Kimchi
Sauerkraut
Fiddlehead Ferns
Breadfruit
Morels
Chanterelles
Boiled Peanuts
Monkey Apple
Pommecythere

But the most unusual would probably be Polk Salad.
I prefer Collards though.

I love Bamboo shoots in stir fry's as well as Chanterelles.
I hate Sauerkraut  at least in Saurkraut form but love cabbage otherwise.
I had sea weed in some souchi(sorry spelling is wrong. anyone have a clue?) it was not bad but salty a bit slimy if not done right.

The ugliest vegetable I've eaten has to be celeriac - lovely stuff, but not pretty.

I've eaten some strange things in places like Thailand, Indonesia & Bolivia:

Deep fried cockroaches (which just taste of crunchy oil - not a pleasant experience),
Honey ants (lovely - you just bite the abdomen off - it's more a syrup flavour than honey, but really nice)
Grubs (not good)
Rattan hearts (a bit like palm hearts - quite nice really)
Lemon ants (more like termites, they live in lumpy nests on trees in South America - just slice off a but of the nest and they come swarming - they taste of sherbet - sort of fizzy and citrus).

Most of this was as part of Jungle training - when doing research in rainforests it's important to know what you can and can't eat, in case you get stranded or lost.

LOL No Its not you LOL... I do not like cilantro.. I try to but I don't like it.. Always give my ex the worse breath ever imaginable and no matter how many times he brushed his teeth.. the smell was in his breath for several days.. like someone who is an alcoholic and their skin exudes the aroma always... his breath was like that with cilantro! YIKES....

I think cilantro is magical.
Raw carrots on the other hand--pass.
It's their texture I can't stand.

I love raw carrots . I cannot eat cilantro just to eat it and have had very few things I like it in. I basically do not like it not to say I have not had things it was good in if not too overpowering.l a little goes a long way!

Haggis is very nice, but cilantro is disgusting! Is it a by-product of petroleum production?
