What other affects does the moon have upon the earth that may be or may not be a controversy?
Keeping our focus on Earth and Luna only!

I is proven that the affect of the moon's gravity assists the ocean tides.
This is understood and explained...

Now, the question is:
Does it affect smaller bodies of water and/or the solids and life within?

Seas, Great Lakes, smaller lakes, rivers... right down to the most important, small jug of freshly aged home made wine in the barrel?

I am not a cat person - but wouldn't the cat just reach in with those sharp little claws?
