Farmer's gallows sales attacked

A farmer who builds gallows and has sold them to African countries with poor human rights records has been condemned by Amnesty International.

It is reasonable to argue that this is a matter where Government should implement policy on, and not condemn individuals for doing that which the Government allows them to do.

The only argument would be if someone were to argue that a gallows amounts to a weapon, and should have sought an appropriate export licence (not an unreasonable argument to make – but clearly one on which no guidance has been given, and so the individual has the right to make their own judgement).
