Does anyone know of a good topical solution to the pain of shingles - when the spots have gone but the pain remains? Someone I know went for help too late and now is left with an on going problem. Stoic as the person is, I thought perhaps someone out there might have a good remedy available in N America or Sweden.

I have known two people who, following getting shingles late in life, suffered a lot of pain for the rest of their lives. I understand that NICE have just approved a vaccine against shingles, details of which are available on the net. This won't help anyone who is already suffering the after effects though.
