So the new Google Glass Software is being released soon, so this reporter for The Guardian went and asked people in Williamsburg their opinion on the new software

IEEE Spectrum did an interview with one of the pioneers of augmented reality, Steve Mann.
In his experience, Google is asking for trouble by putting the augmented video out of the line of normal vision and normal eye focus, so you have to take your eye off what you are doing to see it.

Whatever the reaction to version 1.0 of Google Glass, it will certainly raise awareness and cause lots of discussion.
For me - I think I'll wait for version 2.0.

Google is retrofitting the city of Austin, Tx where I live with optical cable lines to accommodate Glass.. Being house by house is going to be hell though. I will not be able to get it for many, many, months yet.
