Recharging Non-rechargeable batteries !
« on: 26/06/2006 19:26:47 »
We get through lots of batteries !!

Does anyone have any experience of these new chargers that have appeared over the last few years that claim to recharge your regular bought batteries ?

Any good ?..a waste of money ?....a short lived gimmick ?

I tried it once and they melted. Maybe that was due to the fact that they were ordinary torch batteries and I was using the charger for the car battery.

Watt a waste of old batteries!  Current technology just isn't up to the task.  I tried one of these recharger devices- everything ampered to work fine, until, ohm my, I noticed acid leaked out and corroded the contacts.  The recharged batteries didn't last long.
A friend used to make missiles out of old lithium batteries using a 12-volt car charger-  great fun but leaves a trail of chemical goo along the trajectory.

Subduction causes orogeny.

They break the batteries and chemically react the produts of dead battery , then again fill it in new batteries.
