Julian Bassett asked the Naked Scientists:
A friend of mine suggested that our tendency to yawn in sympathy with others relates to our genetic heritage, way back in the sea when we were all clams and our clam shells would open to catch tiny food for millions of years got into out cells as a bit of a habit.
Hard to prove but might explain why other creatures do it too!
Cheers, Julian Bassett
What do you think?
