What Wavelength do PV panels operate on? Also does heat affect their efficiency?
« on: 30/03/2016 01:34:39 »
I am about to install several PV panels on my roof.
I live in area that has HAIL storms that kill cars regularly and causes home insurance to raise.
Thus I want to protect these panels with Acrylite Op-3 Acrylic which has 98% absorption of UV starting at 400nm.

I need to know what wavelength Amorphous PV panels need to operate.

Also (in case they need UV to operate, thus forcing me to use a non-UV blocking acrylic panel) does increased temperatures cause degradation of performance? And if so at what temperature do these properties occur?
