Reciprocal forces act upon a particle. The particle has an initial state of force and a final “force state”. Each state is represented as a vector of force (Van der Waal vector). A change of state is represented by the differences of vector components.

The vector components also give a general equation of state. Components of force are related to associated energies. If the energies are assigned VdW definitions, then the force state equation will give the VdW equation.
