Ahoy there
« on: 27/07/2018 21:28:25 »
The captain of a ship was outside taking in the atmosphere on a deeply foggy night. All of a sudden he sees a light coming toward him and says:

Captain: Ahoy there. Give way. We have the right of way so change course!

A voice returns: You change course!

Captain: I just said that WE have the right of way so YOU change course.

Voice: I won't do that. You change course.

Captain: Change course, you hear me? We're a battleship! We'll run you over. What are you?

Voice: A lighthouse!!

The captain then changed course. :D

There is another urban myth that does the rounds. It concerns the Dutch Coastguard who has a new recruit. He is put in charge while his collegue takes a pee break.
Ship: mayday, mayday, we are sinking, we are sinking
Coastguard (after slight hesitation): and vot are you sinking about?

That was a brilliant TV advert for Berlitz language schools. Very well acted, finishing with the silent caption "improve your English......"

Strongly advised: search You Tube for "Berlitz TV advert sinking". Must be about 30 years old and still funny!
