Are these supposed Covid-19 cures hoaxes and fake news?
« on: 28/03/2020 12:10:24 »
Is this guy for real, Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai? He's claims to have four MIT Degrees and he's written to Trump recommending an untested treatment plan during the Covid-19 crisis "that can lead America back to health - immune and economic"
https://shiva4senate.com/immune-and-economic-health-for-america-coronavirus/

Note the disclaimer at the bottom of the page on that link:
"DISCLAIMER: The content of the above letter is the opinion Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai, MIT PhD., and should not be considered medical advice. If you have any questions, it is recommended you seek the medical advice of a medical professional or a doctor in the field."

I think it's bollocks.
Partly because plenty of people who went down with covid will have been taking vitamin supplements anyway (essentially because it's in fashion) and if there really was a strong effect from vitamins, it would have been noticed.
Partly because, as far as I can tell, he offered no evidence base for his claim

But mainly because, in big letters across the bottom of his page, he's asking for money.

I'd go so far as to suggest that you strip his web address out of your post so that the spiders don't give it credibility.

Is this guy for real ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Ayyadurai

It's guilt-by-association, but his missus is the actress Fran Drescher.
She is deeply into alt-med: she has a cancer-charity which promotes quacks,
such as the de-licensed doctor William Lee Cowden ...https://quackwatch.org/cases/board/med/cowden/2002order/
who also goes by "Dr. Lee Cowden, M.D., M.D.(H)", see ... https://archive.is/VVv9n#selection-759.38-761.31
[ The "(H)" stands for homeopathic ].

Exhibit A

Dr C has not only modified his name, he's modified his Barnet: he used to be grey.
