Will the Covid-19 vaccine alter the recipient's DNA?
« on: 05/01/2021 11:49:14 »
Brian says:

Certain groups of people believe that the new vaccine for the Wuhan virus, euphemistically called COVID-19, will contain a microchip that will enable vaccinated persons to be tracked and followed anywhere in the world.
Another belief is that the vaccine is intended to alter the receiver's DNA in some way.

What do you think?

Certain groups of people
will eat any old bullshit you feed them, and continue to vote Republican.

Sadly, there is nothing we can do to alter their DNA, and no legal way of preventing the gullible from reproducing.

Little point in tracking the individuals as they all turn up at rallies and infect each other with terminal stupidity.

"Will the vaccine alter the receiver's DNA?"
No, but the virus might.

euphemistically called COVID-19
It's not a euphemism.

Why bother?
They just use your mobile phone and your store loyalty cards.
But it's important to realise that "microchips" are actually quite big. They wouldn't fit through the hypodermic needle.

So, if you see some web site talking about "microchips in vaccine" you know that the site is talking nonsense and should be ignored.

The quickest way to vaccinate the entire population without overburdening the NHS would be to distribute the vaccine through vets. The tracking chip for cats, dogs and horses is injected with a big hypodermic needle. Beware!

And the newest form of virus wasn't discovered in Wuhan. Let's take some national pride in the Canterbury virus!

Time for some cheerful emoticons, I think.  ;) ;) ;)

No, but the virus might.

Coronaviruses don't incorporate themselves into the host's DNA in order to replicate.
(other viruses do)

Retroviruses like HIV and Hepatitis B use an enzyme called "Reverse Transcriptase" to translate the virus RNA back into the host cell DNA.
- The Coronavirus does not have a gene for Reverse Transcriptase
- The vaccines don't contain Reverse Transcriptase
- So your DNA is unaffected by the vaccine or by SARS-COV2

The traditional direction for information flow in a cell is: DNA → RNA → Proteins
- Retroviruses reverse the usual direction of flow, and create their own path RNA → DNA
- The RNA vaccines utilize the normal path RNA → Proteins to manufacture the coronavirus spike protein in the vaccinated cells. The immune system sees the "foreign" spike protein, and mounts an immune response to the spike protein.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reverse_transcriptase
