Saves wear on your clothes. Saves money - no need to buy yoga pants, whatever they are. Good for the soul - reminds you of what a pathetic physical specimen you are. Gives you something to talk about, however vacuous.

Don't know if there are any studies on the matter but I guess the benefits match those of perineum sunbathing
