Mike: 'Some cultures are seen firing multiple guns into the air when excited or celebrating. What happens to these bullets? Clearly they come back to Earth, but is it nearby and are they dangerous? Have people been killed?'

The bullet will fall at it's terminal speed which will be different for different bullet designs. While this could cause injury it will be nowhere near as dangerous as a bullet at muzzle speed. I believe I asked a similar question in the past but I have no idea how to find it.

Hi,
There's an article about this already in Wikipedia:
"Celebatory Gunfire",
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebratory_gunfire
That article lists dozens of "notable incidents" at the end.
It is exactly as
@paul cotter
stated, the terminal velocity in free fall should be lower than the muzzle exit speed so in some sense the bullet should cause less damage - but it just doesn't in any way that matters.
(i) It can kill people and people can't be "more dead".
(ii) Statistics are referenced in that article showing the location of the injury is quite often the head - it's a head shot.
Best Wishes.
